The Chaine Memorial Tower, located in Larne, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, is a memorial to James Chaine, a former Member of Parliament for Antrim. The tower is situated on the west side of the entrance to Larne Lough and is a cylindrical stone tower with a conical roof, inspired by Irish round towers. It was built in 1888 by public subscription and stands 23 meters tall.
The memorial was erected by the Memorial Committee for Chaine, who sought assistance from the Commissioners of Irish Lights to build and maintain a tower. Initially, the Commissioners refused, but eventually agreed to let the Memorial Committee build a replica round tower without a light, with the Larne Harbour authority maintaining it. In 1896, a light was added to the tower, and the Commissioners of Irish Lights took over its maintenance. The light was installed to aid the navigation of the Hunter Rock, a submerged rock off the coast.
The tower serves as a navigational aid for ships entering Larne harbour, and is managed by the Commissioners of Irish Lights. The inscription on the plaque at the tower's base pays tribute to James Chaine's contributions to Larne's development, including establishing the town as a transatlantic port and improving its harbour.
