The Outão Lighthouse, also known as Farol do Outão, is located in Setúbal, Portugal, on the right bank of the Sado River estuary. The lighthouse was originally installed in 1775 in a different location, higher up in the Arrábida hills, and was later transferred to the Fort of Santiago do Outão in 1863. The current tower is hexagonal with a double balcony, and part of it is painted white, while the top is in stone.

The lighthouse has undergone several modifications throughout its history, including the substitution of the catoptric system with a Fresnel lens in 1857. During World War I, the lighthouse ceased to operate from 1916 to 1918. It was electrified in 1954, and automated in 1984. The light is characterized by a red color, shining for four seconds and then dark for two seconds, with a range of 12 nautical miles.

Today, the Outão Lighthouse has a height of 11 meters and is an important aid to navigation in the area. The lighthouse has a rich history, and its unique tower and location make it a notable landmark in the region. Although it is no longer manned by keepers, the lighthouse continues to be an important part of Portugal's maritime heritage, and its history and significance are still celebrated today.
