Osinovetsky Light

The Osinovetsky Light is a lighthouse located in Lake Ladoga, Leningrad Oblast, Russia. It was built in 1905, although some sources suggest it may have been constructed in 1910. The lighthouse features a cylindrical tower with a balcony and lantern, standing at a height of 230 feet. It is marked with red and white bands and has a white lantern.

The Osinovetsky Light is an active lighthouse, serving as an important landmark in the region. It is the eighth tallest traditional lighthouse in the world and is a slightly shorter twin of the Storozhenskiy Light. The lighthouse played a significant role during the Siege of Leningrad, serving as a key part of the Road of Life. It has been an important aid to navigation, marking the west side of the entrance to the southernmost bay of Lake Ladoga.

The lighthouse has been maintained by several keepers over the years, including Sergey Shulyatev, who held the position from 1987 to 2010 and was the oldest lighthouse keeper in Russia at the time. The Osinovetsky Light remains an important part of Russia's maritime history and continues to serve as a vital aid to navigation in the region.
