Punta Moscarter

The Punta Moscarter Lighthouse is located near Portinatx on the northern coast of the Spanish island of Ibiza. The lighthouse was built in 1975 and became operational in November 1978. It is an active aid to navigation and is managed by the Comisión de faros.

The Punta Moscarter Lighthouse is a cylindrical tower with a double balcony and lantern, standing at a height of 52 meters. It has a black and white spiral marking and a grey lantern. The lighthouse has a focal height of 93 meters and a range of 18 nautical miles, emitting a flashing white light every 5 seconds.

The Punta Moscarter Lighthouse holds the distinction of being the tallest lighthouse in the Balearic Islands at the time of its construction, surpassing the Illa de l'Aire Lighthouse on Menorca. It continues to serve as an important aid to navigation in the region, and its unique design and location make it a notable landmark on the island of Ibiza.
