The Rimini Lighthouse is located on the east side of the channel harbour of Rimini, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. The lighthouse was first built in 1733, but the current structure was completed in 1946 after the previous one was partially destroyed during World War II. The lighthouse features a quadrangular tower with a balcony and lantern attached to a 2-storey keeper's house, standing at a height of 25 meters.
The Rimini Lighthouse has an interesting history, with the first tower being designed by architect Luigi Vanvitelli in 1733. The lighthouse has undergone several transformations, including the addition of a 9-meter extension and electrification of the lantern in 1911. After being damaged during World War II, the lighthouse was rebuilt in 1946 and is now completely automated. The lighthouse is operated by the Marina Militare and is still an active aid to navigation, emitting three white flashes every 12 seconds.
The Rimini Lighthouse is an important landmark in the region, with a rich history spanning over 250 years. The current lighthouse is equipped with a Type OF lens and has a focal length of 187.5 mm, with a range of 15 nautical miles. The lighthouse is now a significant part of Rimini's maritime history and continues to guide mariners safely into the port.
