Shark Island Light

Shark Island Light is a cylindrical tower lighthouse located on Shark Island in Sydney Harbour, New South Wales, Australia. The lighthouse was built in 1913, standing at 41 feet tall, and is operated by the Sydney Ports Corporation. Its light is only visible on the harbour fairway between Shark Point and Point Piper, and it has a range of 6 nautical miles.

The lighthouse is a white tower with a balcony and lantern, situated on a pile foundation. It is currently active and managed by the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water as part of the Sydney Harbour National Park. Unfortunately, the lighthouse itself is closed to the public and can only be accessed by boat, but visitors can view it from Shark Island.

The history of Shark Island Light is not extensively documented, but it is an important part of Sydney Harbour's maritime infrastructure. The lighthouse plays a vital role in guiding vessels safely through the harbour, and its operation has remained consistent since its establishment in 1913.
