South Button Island

South Button Island is a national park located in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands off the coast of India. The park is part of the Rani Jhansi Marine National Park and is situated approximately 24 kilometers southwest of Havelock Island. It is the smallest national park in India, covering an area of about 5 square kilometers.

The island has a diverse range of flora and fauna, despite its small size. Some of the trees and shrubs present on the island include rattan palm, climbing bamboo, and various species of fruit trees. The sea surrounding the island is teeming with life, including dugongs, sea turtles, dolphins, and blue whales. The island is also a popular site for snorkeling and scuba diving, with shallow water coral reefs and high visibility.

The island has an interesting history, with a unique climate moderated by the surrounding sea. The average temperature varies between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius, and the island receives most of its rain during the monsoon season between June and October. The island is a popular tourist destination, with visitors coming to see the coral reefs and diverse marine life. However, there is no information available about a lighthouse on the island.
