The Adra Lighthouse is located in Adra, Almería, Andalusia, on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. It was built in 1986 and is an active lighthouse, the third to have been constructed near the town of Adra. The lighthouse has a height of 26 meters and a focal height of 49 meters, with a range of 16 nautical miles.
The current lighthouse is a concrete tower with twin galleries and a distinctive daymark of red and white bands. It has a characteristic of three flashes of white light every ten and a half seconds. The lighthouse is managed and operated by the Almería Port Authority.
The history of the Adra Lighthouse dates back to 1861, when the first project to provide a beacon for Adra was proposed. The first lighthouse was a wooden tower built in 1883, but it was destroyed by a storm in 1896. A second lighthouse was built in 1899, but it was not tall enough to be distinguished from the lights of the town. The current lighthouse was built in 1986 to address these issues and provide a clear and visible light for navigation.
