Baishajia Lighthouse

The Baishajia Lighthouse is located in Guanyin District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. It was built in 1901 as the third lighthouse in Taiwan under Japanese rule, with an original height of 38 meters. However, the upper portion was destroyed during World War II and the tower was later repaired to its current height of 27.7 meters.

The lighthouse is a cylindrical tower with a balcony and lantern, made of brick and stone. It has a white tower and a black lantern dome, with a focal plane that flashes every 10 seconds. The lighthouse is currently managed by the Maritime and Port Bureau and is open to tourists from Tuesday to Sunday. It was announced in 2013 that the lighthouse would be opened for tourists, and since then, it has become a popular attraction in the area.

The lighthouse has a rich history, and its original 3rd order Fresnel lens is still in use today. The lighthouse is not only an important aid to navigation but also a significant historical landmark in Taiwan. With its unique architecture and interesting history, the Baishajia Lighthouse is a must-visit destination for tourists and history enthusiasts alike.

Light and tower

It has a cylindrical tower with balcony and lantern tower. The tower is built of brick stone. Its daymark is white tower, black lantern dome. The light has a focal height of 36.6 metres. Its light characteristic is Al WR 10s. It carries an original 3rd order Fresnel lens. It is managed by Maritime and Port Bureau.
