The Buholmråsa Lighthouse is located in Osen Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is situated on the small island of Sønnaholmen in the Svesfjorden, approximately 2 kilometers northwest of the village of Seter. The lighthouse was built in 1917 and has a unique history, having suffered damage from air raids during World War II.
The Buholmråsa Lighthouse is a round, cast iron structure that stands 23.5 meters tall with a distinctive red and white stripe design. The light source is elevated 38 meters above sea level and can be seen from up to 19.3 kilometers away. The light emits a white, red, or green color depending on direction and occults once every six seconds. The lighthouse also broadcasts a racon signal in morse code.
The Buholmråsa Lighthouse was automated in 1994 and continues to serve as an important navigational aid. Its rich history and unique features make it a notable example of Norway's coastal lighthouses. Despite being automated, the lighthouse remains a significant part of the region's maritime heritage and continues to guide vessels through the Svesfjorden.
