Dyrhólaeyjarviti

The Dyrhólaey Lighthouse, also known as Dyrhólaeyjarviti, is located on the central south coast of Iceland. It was first established in 1910 with a skeletal steel tower prefabricated in Sweden, but the current lighthouse was built in 1927. The lighthouse is a square concrete tower, painted white with red trim, and has a red metal lantern house on top. It stands at a height of 13 meters and has a focal plane of 118 meters.

The lighthouse is still active and flashes white every 10 seconds, marking the southernmost point of the mainland of Iceland. The site, but not the tower, is open to visitors. The lighthouse has a range of 27 nautical miles and is an important aid to navigation for ships passing through the area. The current lighthouse has been in operation for over 90 years and has played a significant role in the maritime history of Iceland.

The Dyrhólaey Lighthouse is a notable landmark in Iceland and is one of the many lighthouses that are strategically located around the country's coastline. Its unique location and striking appearance make it a popular destination for tourists and photographers. The lighthouse has been well-maintained over the years and continues to serve as an important aid to navigation, while also being a popular tourist attraction.
