Fangyuan Lighthouse

The Fangyuan Lighthouse is located in Fangyuan Township, Changhua County, Taiwan. It was built in 1983 at the eastern side of Wanggong Fishing Port to ensure the safety of vessels moving around the port. The lighthouse stands at a height of 37.4 meters with a focal height of 35.7 meters, and its tower is constructed with reinforced concrete.

The lighthouse has a unique tapered octagonal prism shape with a double balcony and lantern, and it is painted in black and white vertical stripes. The light beam from the lighthouse has a characteristic of five seconds light, followed by five seconds dark, with an intensity of 28,000 candelas and a range of 16.6 nautical miles. The lighthouse was equipped with a fourth-class electric lamp and has a power generation room, store room, and dorms.

The Fangyuan Lighthouse is currently managed by the Maritime and Port Bureau, and it plays an important role in ensuring the safety of vessels in the surrounding area. Although there is limited information available on the lighthouse's history, it is notable for its unique architecture and its contribution to the safety of the maritime industry in Taiwan. The lighthouse is also a notable tourist attraction in Changhua County, and it is included in the list of lighthouses in Taiwan.

Light and tower

It has a tapered octagonal prism with double balcony and lantern tower. The tower is built of concrete. Its daymark is tower with black and white vertical stripes, white lantern, black lantern dome. The light has a focal height of 35.7 metres. Its light characteristic is Iso W 10s. It is managed by Maritime and Port Bureau.
