Gibraltar Detached Mole ("C" Head) Lighthouse

The Gibraltar Detached Mole ("C" Head) Lighthouse is a lighthouse located in Gibraltar Harbour, Gibraltar, at the north entrance to the harbour. The lighthouse was built on the Detached Mole, a manmade defense structure, which provides protection to the harbour. The lighthouse itself is a square tower made of concrete, standing 37 feet tall, with a focal plane of 33 feet above sea level. It has a characteristic of a quick, flashing green light, with a range of 5 nautical miles.

The lighthouse is positioned at the "C" Head of the Detached Mole, located at the north end of the mole. It is situated to the north of the east end of the Strait of Gibraltar, which connects the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean. The lighthouse is one of several lighthouses in Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory at the south end of the Iberian Peninsula.

The Gibraltar Detached Mole ("C" Head) Lighthouse has a rich history, with the harbour having been protected by the Rock of Gibraltar and a system of manmade defences, including breakwaters and moles. The harbour has both north and south entrances, and the northern entry is bordered by the Western Arm of the North Mole and the Detached Mole. The lighthouse plays an important role in guiding vessels into the harbour, and its unique location and design make it a distinctive landmark in the area.

Light and tower

It has a square tower. The tower is built of concrete. The light has a focal height of 10 metres. Its light characteristic is Q.G.
