The Jazirat Umm al Maradim Lighthouse is located on Umm al Maradim Island, situated at the southernmost part of Kuwait's marine borders near the junction with Saudi Arabia. This island is notable for its deep waters, which allow ships to land directly on its shores, a unique advantage for Kuwaiti islands.

The lighthouse itself is a square pyramidal tower with a balcony and lantern, built on a concrete base and featuring a metal skeletal construction. It is marked by red and white horizontal bands. Umm al Maradim Island measures approximately 1.5 kilometers in length and 540 meters in width, covering an area of about 65 hectares. The island was the first Kuwaiti land to be liberated from the 1991 Invasion of Kuwait, with the Kuwaiti flag being hoisted again to proclaim the defeat of aggression and the restoration of legality.

The island is home to a variety of birds, including seagulls and flamingoes, and is also known for its greenery during the rainy season. Although uninhabited, it features public buildings such as the Jazirat Umm al Maradim Lighthouse and a police station. Umm al Maradim Island is the rainiest place in Kuwait, and its unique location and features make it a significant location within the country's geography.
