The Kātiki Point Lighthouse, also known as Moeraki Lighthouse, is located on Kātiki Point, at the tip of the Moeraki Peninsula, in the South Island of New Zealand. The lighthouse was built in 1878 and first shone its light on April 22, 1878, to make the area safer for ships passing by on their way to Port Chalmers, Dunedin. The lighthouse stands at a height of 8 meters and has a focal height of 58 meters, with a range of 10 nautical miles.

The lighthouse has a unique hexagonal tower with a balcony and lantern, and is constructed of wood. It is painted white with red trim and a black lantern, and features a light-emitting diode lens. The lighthouse was automated in 1975 and is currently managed by Maritime New Zealand. The area surrounding the lighthouse has a long history of wrecks, with the most notable being the wrecking of the ancestral waka atua on a return trip from Hawaiki.

The Kātiki Point Lighthouse has an interesting history, with tradition holding that the remains of the cargo from the wrecked waka atua are the Moeraki Boulders. The lighthouse itself experienced a setback just before its first lighting, when a storm shook the tower and broke the lamp glass, requiring a new one to be ordered and the tower to be strengthened before the light could be lit. Despite this, the lighthouse has stood the test of time and continues to serve as an important aid to navigation for ships in the area.
