Mallipattinam

Mallipattinam is a coastal village located in the Pattukkottai taluk of Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated at a distance of 20.5 kilometers from the taluk main town, Pattukkottai, and 66.5 kilometers from the district main city, Thanjavur. The village is also known as Sarabendrarajapattinam, having its name derived from Serfoji II, who was granted the title of Sarabendra Raja.

Caluvanaickan Pattinam, another name for Mallipattinam, was a strategic site due to its location as a port and gateway to the sea route of Sri Lanka.
