Punta del Castillete

Punta del Castillete Lighthouse is a prominent landmark located on the island of Gran Canaria, Spain, specifically in the municipality of Mogán. It stands on cliffs above the resort and fishing harbour of Puerto de Mogán and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean.

The lighthouse was built between 1985 and 1996 and has a distinctive modern design featuring a square base and a concrete tower with external stairways. The structure was originally painted in a sandy yellow color but was repainted in blue and white in 2014. It is powered by six solar panels and has a focal height of 114 meters, making its light visible for 17 nautical miles.

The lighthouse is not connected to the electricity grid and is instead self-sustained by solar power, which also powers its 500 mm lantern equipped with a 150 watt halogen lamp. The area around the lighthouse is accessible via a steep road with many hairpin turns from the resort of Puerto de Mogán, although the tower itself is closed to visitors.
