It was built in 1913 with concrete and stone, and features a cylindrical tower with a gallery and lantern. The lighthouse stands at 14 meters high, with a focal height of 15 meters and a range of 13 nautical miles.
The lighthouse was designed by William Douglass and built by the Trinity House Engineering Company. It has a distinctive black and white spiral pattern on the tower, created by the stonework.
