Paluküla Church is located in Hiiumaa Parish, Hiiu County, Estonia, in a woodland area near the road. The church, built in 1820 for the Ungern-Sternberg family, is a Gothic-style church with a capacity of 100 people. It was initially used as a cemetery church but due to high groundwater levels, a graveyard was not established nearby. The church tower was used as a lookout position and observation post, and it was even ruined by a fire in 1989. However, it was repaired in 1994 and a roof was added in 1996.

As a notable nautical navigation point, the church tower served as a rear sea mark in range with Hiiessaare Lighthouse. This range of lights, including Paluküla Church's tower, was used for navigation by sailors. The church is registered in the list of cultural monuments of Estonia since 1999 under number 23605 and is part of Hiiumaa Parish.

Paluküla Church has an interesting history, having been used for various purposes over the years. Initially built for a specific family, it later served as a warehouse and observation post during times of military occupation. Today, the church is no longer active, but its tower remains a significant part of Estonia's nautical navigation history.
