Rivingen

Rivingen Lighthouse is a coastal lighthouse located in the municipality of Grimstad in Agder county, Norway. The lighthouse was first established in 1886 on a small island at the southern approach to the harbour of the town of Grimstad. The original lighthouse had an attached keeper's house, but it was closed in 1925 and a new, smaller tower was built nearby.

The current lighthouse is a white, square, wooden tower with a red top, standing 6 meters tall, and its light sits at an elevation of 12 meters above sea level. The light emits a flash of light every 5 seconds and can be seen for up to 6.4 nautical miles. The light's color varies depending on the direction, appearing white, red, or green.

The old lighthouse, which has been inactive since 1925, is now a privately owned summer residence and is only accessible by boat. The new tower has been guiding mariners safely since its construction in 1925, and Rivingen Lighthouse remains an important aid to navigation in the area. With its rich history and unique features, Rivingen Lighthouse is a notable landmark in Norway's coastal landscape.
