Beypore Lighthouse

The Beypore Lighthouse is located in Feroke, Kerala, on the south shore of the Chaliyam River. It was built in 1977 and features a hexagonal tower with a balcony and lantern, standing at a height of 30.48 meters. The tower is painted with red and white bands, and the lighthouse has a focal height of 32 meters, with a range of 16 nautical miles.

The lighthouse started functioning on November 21, 1977, and has undergone upgrades over the years. In 1998, the incandescent lamp was replaced with a 230V 400W metal halide lamp, and a direct drive system was integrated. The lighthouse is currently operational, serving as an important aid to navigation for vessels in the area.
