Punta Delgada

Punta Delgada Lighthouse is located on the Spanish island of Alegranza in the Canary Islands, situated to the north of the larger island of Lanzarote. The lighthouse was built in 1865 and is an active 19th-century structure. It has a cylindrical tower that rises 15 meters high and is attached to a whitewashed, single-storey building with dark volcanic rock detailing.

The lighthouse was designed by engineer Juan de León y Castillo and was one of the first to be completed as part of the original maritime lighting plan for the Canaries. It features a neo-classical style similar to other Canarian lighthouses of the same era. The building has a central courtyard, a cistern to collect rainfall, and a well to store water from the mountain. The lighthouse was declared a monument of cultural interest in 2002 and is maintained by the Port authority of the Province of Las Palmas.

The Punta Delgada Lighthouse has a significant range of 12 nautical miles and displays a characteristic Fl W 3s light. It is registered under the international Admiralty number D2772 and has the NGA identifier of 113-24076. The lighthouse remains an important navigational aid in the region and is a notable example of 19th-century architecture in the Canary Islands.
